Have you caught any shiny Pokemon in Pokemon X and Y?

The new poll for this week is here, and this time around, I'm asking you if you've caught any shiny Pokemon in Pokemon X and Y. I haven't yet, but I want to try out the chain fishing method so that I can find one. What about you?

No, neither do I really like the new shinies method.
A Shiny Pokémon used to be something special, an extremely rare occasion that you only encounter a few times (I have encountered about 6 of all time) in a whole collection of games.
I don't have a problem with moves that improve shinies rate, but here in X and Y you can just sit down and literally WAIT to find one. I don't like that.
So as for me I'm not going to use methods like chain fishing and just wait my fateful encounter. No offense against people who like to use it, though.

I haven't met one yet, but I haven't been in too many random encounters. I used only the Pokémon the game awarded to me, plus NPC trades and one-time catches, so I never had to stop to train.
I feel indifferent toward the player's ability to hunt them down specifically. Personally, I won't do it, but if others have the patience to, that's their reward. It does stop being special if done too much, though.

Yes two.
Snubull was a random encounter.
Fletchlign was found after hard work using the PokeRadar.

I have found six, none of which I have gone out of my way to get. Floatzel was a random encounter, I found Abra, Espurr, Zebstrika and Whirlpede while searching for Pokemon with certain IVs in the Friend Safari and I found Ekans while EV training with hordes.

My last post in this thread no longer applies as of this morning. I was doing a test with my Blaziken to figure something out with its stats. I'd used a reset bag on it earlier with no intention of saving.
But the first thing I encountered was a shiny Gurdurr. Yep. >_<
@ShockBubble: Were you able to catch that Abra? ;P

I used my Master Ball! It was 100% worth it, though upon reflection a Quick Ball or Repeat Ball were pretty much guaranteed to work too. Oh well.halibabica wrote:My last post in this thread no longer applies as of this morning. I was doing a test with my Blaziken to figure something out with its stats. Nice with the Gurdurr, too! Most unfortunate time to be so fortunate.

I save the Master Ball for such instances, too. Quick Balls have a chance of failing, after all. ;P
