No current plans for download content in the next Super Smash Bros. games
Don't expect to see download content in the next Super Smash Bros. games. According to Sakurai, there are no current plans to add download content to the games. According to him:
“At the current time we have no plans. I consider my job at this point, and my main responsibility, to make the Wii U and 3DS versions the best and the fullest experience possible. That said, once finished, it’s the type of thing we could take into consideration, but for now, you could consider DLC as not being in the cards.”
He also said that the gameplay will be somewhere between Melee's fast-paced action and Brawl's slower, more casual action.

I'm glad that there hopefully won't be any DLC. Nintendo has always delivered the full thing in one shot.

New stages, stage builder features, perhaps even new trophies couldn't hurt the game, could it?
Though I agree there shouldn't be made any new characters after the release.

I'm okay with that. I feel like modern gaming is too reliant on DLC to get the full package when those things should already be in the game.
